Glen Michael Milton, 72 of McComb, MS passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 2 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM at Catchings – Sharkey Funeral home in Summit. Visitation will continue on Monday, June 3 at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in McComb with the funeral beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Dr. Woody Rimes will officiate.
Mr. Milton was born on July 15, 1946 in McComb, MS. He was the son of Obie Dan Milton and Hazel Rayburn Milton.
Mr. Milton graduated from McComb High School and Southwest Community College where he played football. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Milton married his high school sweetheart and together they had three children. Mr. Milton worked for many years in sales, and retired from Lott Furniture Company. He devoted many years of service to the McComb Dixie Youth Baseball Organization. Mr. Milton was a devout Christian and attended First Baptist Church of McComb, Mississippi where he sang in the choir and was a deacon. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports, and he never met a stranger.
Mr. Milton was preceded in death by his loving wife Gale M. Milton, his parents, and his brother Obie Dan Milton, Jr. He is survived by his children Chad M. Milton and wife, Christy of Madison; Crystal Milton Simpson and husband, Ricky of Madison and Corey L. Milton of McComb; four grandchildren, Madison Simpson, Brayden Simpson, Drew Milton and Charlie Milton and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He leaves behind his two loving Labradors Sassy and Maggie.
Pallbearers will be Clifton Mote, Bradley Mote, Lamar Watts, Brian Watts, Sonny Furr, Jace Brandon, Glen Gatlin and Phillip Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Al Dribben, Earl Alford, and Don Geddie.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church in McComb, MS or the Baptist Children's Village in Ridgeland, MS.
