Mr. Gerald Didone, 79, of McComb, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS.  He was born on March 25, 1939, in New Orleans, LA, to Earl and Georgia Miller Didon. He was of the Baptist faith; served his country in the US Army; worked for many years as a forklift driver at Croft Metals; and enjoyed gardening, driving through the countryside with his dog, Prissy, and visiting with family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 32 years, Alice F. Didone; daughter, Debbie Didone; sisters, Ella Mae Lebo and Willie Faye Pritchard; and brothers, Jessie Didone, Robert Didon, and Leroy Didon.

Survivors are his step-son, Michael Minton of Fernwood, MS; brother, James Didon of Magnolia, MS; sister, Jeanette Bothwell of Spring, TX; 2 step-grandchildren; a special niece and caregiver, Kay Dunn; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS, from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS.  Bro. E J Didon will be officiating the services with Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Michael Minton, Earl Didone, Royce Williams, Kenny Tucker, Michael Didon and Tony Brashears.

Honorary pallbearers are Zane Minton and Jeff Didon.
