Mr. Peter Brawley, 85, of McComb, MS, loving husband to Dr. Patricia Brawley, devoted father and grandfather, died peacefully at University of Mississippi Medical Center on September 22, 2022 after a brief illness.

Peter was born in Toronto, Canada on March 27, 1937 to the late Claude and Elizabeth Brawley. He studied medicine and neuroscience at the University of Toronto and later became a lecturer and director of the Brain Research Lab. His research led him to love software development. He co-founded Artful Software with his long-time friend Arthur Fuller. They published two books.

Peter loved music all his life, particularly classical and folk music. He played a mean six-string as well as twelve-string guitar. Music was his constant companion. He could be seen riding his well-loved electric bike around Edgewood Park.

In addition to his wife, Pat, he will be missed by his children; Karen Brawley of Bragg Creek CAN, Kimberley Brawley of Guelph CAN, Stuart Brawley of Los Angeles, CA, Sarah (Michael) Alvarez of Toronto CAN, and Rachel (Martin) Tharp of Prague, the Czech Republic. He is missed by three step-children: Dawn (Rodney Tidwell, Darren Jergins, and Chad Jergins. He cherished his grandchildren: Gillian (Rob) Kelly, Allison Brawley-Hogg, Michael and Mason Alvarez, Jasper and Dyami Hayes, and Isabella Tharp. His step-grandchildren: Emily, Ryan, and Eric Cothern and Michael Jergins will miss his wit and support.

He is also survived by an aunt, Nora Johnson from Winter Haven, Florida.

A memorial service will be held in Canada at a later date.
