Mrs. Frankie R. Rushing, 97, of Magnolia, MS, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at McComb Community Care Center in McComb, MS. She was born on August 15, 1929, to Hiram Willis Rhodus and Montory Caroline Berry Rhodus.
A visitation will be held at Sharkey Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Magnolia with Bro. John Rushing officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Frankie was a loving and devoted woman who cherished her family and found great joy in cooking for those she loved. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia. She worked for Kellwood Company for 30 years. Frankie enjoyed sewing, reading, coloring, and tending to the beautiful flowers in her yard. She was the last of sixteen children to pass away, leaving behind a wonderful family legacy and many cherished memories. She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of others.
Frankie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell Rushing; children, Barbara Lynn Rushing, Steve Eric Rushing and Lamar Rushing Jr.; 5 brothers and 10 sisters.
She is survived by her son, Kerry Rushing (Alice); daughter, Jane Greene (Bill); 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, 8 bonus great grandchildren and 3 bonus great- great grandchildren.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to McComb Community Care Center and Camelia Estates.
Pallbearers are Ray Rushing, Chuck Rowell, Don Hodges, Ethan Reyes, Douglas Marcotte and Dalon Moore.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Marcotte and Michael Rushing.
