Mrs. Frankie Lou Boyd Phelps, 90, of Jayess, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her residence.
Mrs. Frankie was born in Jayess, MS on June 21, 1932 and was the daughter of Clyde Boyd and Letha Cothern Boyd. She was a longtime member at Holmesville Baptist Church in McComb, MS where she served on the Hostess Committee, loved her church family and enjoyed her life living for the Lord. She was a lifelong residence of Jayess, MS where she raised her two daughters. She loved her daughters and their families with everything in her. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Before she was unable, her passion was cooking and feeding her family community. She loved to cook for the church and her family and was known for many of her special dishes, especially her chicken and dumplings. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Vivian Parker of Raymond, MS, and Susan Mathis and Lee of Jayess, MS; one sister, Faye Hall of McComb, MS; four grandchildren, Jason Parker and Christina, Thomas Parker and Lydia of Raymond, MS, Mandie Carney and Bret of Jayess, MS, and Chance Mathis of Jayess, MS; four great-grandchildren, Chloe Carney, Abigail Parker, Ethan Parker, and Brodie Carney; one special cousin, Gloria Dean Dunaway and Jewel, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Nickles, Alcus Kyzar, Michael Boyd, David Mathis, Bret Carney, and David Blailock. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Dunaway, Tom Van Norman, and Jeremy Ferguson.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 5PM until 8PM and continue on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Holmesville Baptist Church in McComb, MS with Bro. Lee Mathis and Bro. Daryl Bone officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A burial will follow in the Enon Cemetery in Jayess, MS.
