November 28, 1938 – August 23, 2021
Mrs. Fener Faye Trayal Phelps, 82, of Magnolia, MS, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Faye was born in Bacon County, GA, on November 28, 1938, and was the daughter of Arthur Trayal and Nita Warton Trayal. She was a member of West Gate Church in Magnolia, MS, and loved living her life for Jesus. For 25 years, she worked as a seamstress at Movie Star while raising her children. Later in life, she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with her sisters, cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 43 years, James H. Phelps; three brothers, Benny Trayal, Danny Trayal, and Richard Trayal, and her son, Stephen J. Phelps.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Phelps and Donna of Summit, MS; one daughter, Sherry Case and Donny of Brookhaven, MS; two sisters, Jackie Johnson of McComb, MS, and Barbara Dunaway of McComb, MS; seven grandchildren, Joey Foxworth, Robert Phelps and Sarah, Sean Foxworth, Kristen Phelps Griffis and Kyle, Amber Foxworth Cupit and Zach, Kristin Welch and Ben, and Kari Gill; nine Great-grandchildren, Jillian Newman, Bryson Foxworth, Ethan Temple, Leeanna Welch, Lindy Welch, Kyler Gill, James "JJ" Griffis, Beatrix "Bea" Phelps, and Stephen Phelps, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 9AM until time of service at 11AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS, with Bro. Jerry Gressett officiating. A burial will follow in Guiding Light Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Magnolia, MS.
Due to the CDC recommendations, the family requests that masks are worn and social distancing is observed.
Pallbearers will be Robert Phelps, Jerry Phelps, Sean Foxworth, Joey Foxworth, Kyle Griffis, and Jeff Canton.
