Mr. Everett Kelly Boyd, 71, of Monticello, MS, passed from this life on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS.
Mr. Everett was born in Tylertown, MS on June 26, 1951 and was the son of Charles Cecil Boyd and Mary Ellen Wallace Boyd. He was an avid outdoorsman. His passion was hunting, fishing and his dogs. He had fun with it and also loved to dig his own worms up. He also talked on the CB Radio and his name was "Jungle Monkey". He also loved to be home. His family meant the world to him and he cherished each moment spent with them. To him, family always came first. Everyone loved him and he would always see the good in people. He never met a stranger. He was very well known in the county. For many years, he worked for Lawrence County District 3 and made many friends doing so. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Elizabeth Womble Boyd; his grandson, Hayden David Boyd; three brothers, Charles Ray Boyd, Wayne Boyd, and Donnie Robert Boyd, and two sisters, Patricia Ann White, and Rachel White.
He is survived by his four sons, Joseph Kelly Boyd of Monticello, MS, John David Boyd and Nikki of Georgetown, MS, James Michael Boyd and Martha of Ruth, MS, and Robert Dean Boyd of Ruth, MS; two brothers, Stanley Boyd, and Ronnie Boyd and Pat; two sisters, Judy Hux and JR, and Evelyn Boyd; five grandchildren, Barnabas Mangum and Theresa, Ryanna Boyd, Everley Boyd, Bentley Boyd, Gabrielle Cloud; three great-grandchildren, Anna Mangum, Izzy Mangum, and Will Mangum, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 1PM until time of service at 4PM at Powell's Grove Pentecostal Church in Jayess, MS with Rev. Ray Bowling and Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joseph K. Boyd, John D. Boyd, James M. Boyd, Robert D. Boyd, Barnabas Mangum, and Alvie Rials. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad White, Larry White, Richie Boyd, and Rodney Boyd.
