Evelyn Deloris Rushing Bridges, 85, of Kentwood, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Helena Parish Nursing Home in Greensburg, LA. Mrs. Bridges was born on August 29, 1932, in Kosciusko, MS to Drew Kirkland and Suzanne Counsell Rushing. She was an active member of Kentwood Baptist Church, where she was involved in the choir, and loved her Rebecca Sunday School Class until she was no longer able to attend. Evelyn met and married the love of her life of 49 years, Kennoth Ray Bridges. She and her family owned and operated Bridges Dairy Farm from 1951 to 2002. They received many awards and accomplishments during those days. She always said it was the perfect place to raise her family. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents; one grandson, Michael Bridges; three brothers, James Bridges, Vernon Bridges and wife, Martha, and Hershel Bridges; brothers and sisters-in-law, Barney and Lillian Bridges, Dalton and Margaret Bridges, Dale and Mildred Bridges, Tom and Clytie Chandler, Minee and Virgil Cutrer, and George and Loray Pike; brothers-in-law, Joel Bridges, Odessa Bridges, R. D. Bridges, and Arthur Jones; sisters-in-law, Felicia Rushing and Charlene Rushing; and in-laws, Joel and Addy Bridges. She is survived by three sons, John R. Bridges, Daryl Kennoth Bridges and wife, Linda, Randall Lee Bridges and wife, Terry; one daughter, Teresa Bridges Holmes and husband, Donald; one sister, Helen Rushing Jones; brothers, Arlen Rushing and wife, Marion, Melvin Rushing and wife, Mary, and Sam Rushing; grandchildren, Holt Holmes and wife, Tiffany, Bodie Kennoth Bridges, Brance Lee Bridges and wife, Christie, Chesley Lane Holmes, Whitley Ballard and husband, Josh, and Chris Arnold and wife, Treasure; great-grandchildren, Mary Blythe Arnold, McKayla Bridges and Kohen Holmes; sisters-in-law, Lois Bridges and Teriko Rushing, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Monday, December 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Kentwood from 9AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Joey Miller officiating.
