Sgt. Major Doyle Wayne Forman, 87, of Magnolia, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Collins State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. He was born on May 27, 1932, in Magnolia, MS, to Rodney Robert and Cora Nell Forman. He was a member of Magnolia Nazarene Church; served his country in the US Army and the Army National Guard; Elected Supervisor the 2 nd district of Pike County and served for 18 years, Owner / Operator of Magnolia Trucking Company and a Farmer; and enjoyed golfing and football; and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 64 years, Doralene Reynolds Forman; and his brother, Johnny Forman.
Survivors are his son, Barry Wayne Forman and wife Kim; daughter, Melanie Forman Magee; 3 grandsons, Kris Forman, Jeremy Magee, and Jacob Magee; 2 granddaughters, Shane Forman Normand and Brandy Magee; great granddaughters, Madison, McKenzie, and Mia Normand, and Dylan Grace Forman; one great grandson, Sean Magee; his brother, Charles Forman and wife Delores; his sisters, Ruth Lang and Betty Faye Creed; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Magnolia, MS, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Magnolia City Cemetery. Bro. Rodney Tucker will officiate the services with Sharkey Funeral Home of Summit in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers are Kris Forman, Jacob Magee, Donnie Carter, Bill Parsons, Glen Reynolds, Jessie Reynolds, John Forman, and Todd Forman.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Compassus, St. Joseph Hospice, Camellia Estates, Collins State Veterans Home, and Dr. Luke Lampton.
