Mr. Douglas L. Boyd, 76, of Jayess, MS, passed from this life on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. He was born on September 7, 1941, in Jayess, MS, to Leroy and Lesseree Day Boyd.He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Jayess, MS;. He worked for many years as a handyman; and enjoyed gardening. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Dorothy Coon; and brother, Robert Boyd;

Survivors are his sisters, Billie Lowe, and Bobbie Pope; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess, MS, on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will follow in the Church Cemetery. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Keith Boyd, Tim Boyd, Chad Coon, Brad Pope, Tracy Pope, and Todd Lowe.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Lawrence County Nursing Center and St. Luke Hospice.
