Ms. Dorothy Jean McCalip, 89, of McComb, MS passed from this life on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.

Ms. Dot was born on December 16, 1930 in Amite County, MS and was the daughter Joseph Moton Whittington and Sally Foreman Whittington. Before her health declined, she loved doing things for other people. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She loved surprising others with home-cooked meals. She was the last one of 9 children. She loved arranging flowers and putting them on relatives graves. She was a lady of many traits. She was handy at doing most anything from changing her tires and oil to doing her own plumbing. Very Talented. She loved her family and thought her grandchildren could do no wrong. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Pete Whittington, Raiford Whittington, Tommy Whittington, Moton Whittington and Frank "Snowball" Whittington and three sisters, Kathleen McEwen, Willena Nelson and Dollie Malone.

She is survived by one son, Eddie McCalip and Tina of McComb, MS; one daughter, Vickie Webb and Jimmy of McComb, MS; four grandchildren, Whitney Webb and Michelle of McComb, MS, Obed McCalip and Leann of Houston, TX, Kristin Miller and Chris of Houston, TX and Tyler McCalip of New Orleans, LA; five great-grandchildren, Sam Barfoot, Marley Barfoot, Kilee Miller, Eddie Miller and Lilly McCalip; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ida Lee and Phil Dell'Isola and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2PM at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb with Bro. Lance Moak Officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Andrews Mission, P.O. Box 1407 McComb, MS 39649 or a favorite Charity.
