Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" East, 91, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Camelia Estates. She was born on May 3, 1930 in Smithdale, MS, to Daniel Lumpkin Wells and Addie Lee Reeves Wells.

She enjoyed running Town and Country in Pike Center Mart for 35 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leroy East; three sisters, Laverne Nunnery, Bernice Howell, and Norma Smith; two brothers, James Hugh Wells and Dan L. "Jack" Wells, Jr.; and one toddler brother, Raiford Lee Wells.

She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Patricia Brawley (Peter); three grandchildren, Dawn Tidwell (Rodney), Darren Jergins, and Chad Jergins; four great grandchildren, Dr. Emily Cothern, Ryan Cothern, Eric Cothern, and Michael Jergins; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Joy Laird (James); one sister-in-law, Joyce Wells; and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 10:00 AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit. A graveside service will follow at Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Arlington Baptist Church 1284 Bogue Chitto Rd SW, Bogue Chitto, MS 39629.
