Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Dunaway Alexander will be on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, with burial to follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, with Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Doris Alexander, 89, of Jayess, MS, passed from this life on August 16, 2023, at the BeeHive in Brookhaven, MS.  She was born on February 25, 1934, in Pike County to Oscar and Grace Dunaway.  She was a long time member of Providence Baptist Church.

She retired from Kellwood Co. after working there for many years.  Her enjoyment in life was her family and spending time with them.  Besides that, she loved taking care of others, reading her Bible, and walking.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Otis L. Alexander; and by her son, Wendell Alexander.  Survivors are her daughter, Kathy Alexander Davis (Tommy) of Jayess, MS; grandsons, Kyle Davis (Angela), Lane Davis (Mollie), and Matthew Davis (Katie); and ten great-grandchildren.
