Memorial services for Mr. Donald "Hank" E. Henry will be on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Catchings Sharkey Funeral Home (1023 Old Brookhaven Rd.) in Summit, MS at 2:00 PM. Dr. David Millican will be officiating the services. Visitation will be at Catchings Sharkey Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.Mr.

Henry, 84, of McComb, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at his residence. He was born on April 29, 1934, in Kelly, N.C. He began his career as an aircraft and power plant mechanic. He later joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954. During his 20 year career, he served one tour of duty in Vietnam with the Military Assistance Command, where he earned the Bronze Star medal. He later served as a flight instructor in jet aircraft. He was rated in both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft and held a commercial pilot's license. Donald honorably retired from the Air Force in 1974 with the rank of Major.After military service, Donald moved his family to McComb, MS and opened his own business working in small engine repair and equipment sales. He was an active member of the McComb Pike County Airport Board and loved to play golf. He also used his talents to build his own aircraft that is still being flown today. Hank was a generous soul to those who knew him and always had a smile.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Janett; his mother, Nora Henry; father, Lawrence Eugene Henry; sisters, Anita and Maudeline; and brother, Dwight.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Carr and Marla Kennedy and husband Gregg; and granddaughters, Jordan and Jillian. May he rest in peace and ever fly high.The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus and his other care givers for their loving service and dedication.
