Mrs. Deloris Smith (nee McDaniel), 95, of Summit MS, passed away peacefully on Monday July 18, 2022.

To everyone who knew her, she was simply called MawMaw. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother,

great-grandmother, and friend to many loved ones stretching across several states.

Her life began in 1927 Alabama, to a homemaker and coal miner. In Alabama, she would meet her

husband of fifty-years and began their life together. She and her husband raised their children in

Memphis, TN. and later in Prairieville, LA. Later in life, she moved to Summit, MS. where she lived with her daughter until her passing.

Her sacrifice for family was not one of hardship for her, but one of great joy. Her proudest moments in life were to share the accomplishments of her family, not of her own. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her faith in God, life, and people will be a forever lasting example for her family. She lived her life keeping family at the forefront of everything she did.

Preceded in death by her husband Jesse Smith, daughter Patricia Bourgeois and sons Jesse Jr. and

Richard Smith. Deloris is survived by her daughter Barbara Fisher, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-

grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, beginning at 1PM until time of memorial service at 2PM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS.
