Mr. David Joseph Deer, age 77. returned to Heaven on May 7, 2024, after a brief stay at Flannery Guest House in Baton Rouge, LA.  He was born on July 5, 1946 in Marfa, TX and resided in Metairie, LA.  He was a businessman, and an entrepreneur at heart and loved the LORD.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Elmo David Deer and Carolina Borunda Deer.  Survivors are his next in line brother, Douglas Deer and his youngest brother Daniel Deer, and wife Lori, nieces Virginia Deer, Diane Deer, Jessica Deer Wilken, and nephew Marshall Deer.

Visitation will be held at the Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Rd. in Summit, MS on Tuesday, May 14, from 9 am to 11 am with a brief service at 11 am at the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Andrew Ballard officiating.  He will be interred immediately afterward at the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS, near his parents.
