Daniel Lee Johnston "Danny" passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. Danny, a 20+ year resident of Pike County, had recently moved back to Central-Greenwell Springs to be closer to grandkids and family.

Danny was born on January 25, 1950 to C.W. and Irene Johnston. He grew up in McComb, MS until the age of eleven. He met the love of his life in his childhood neighbor, Theresa Foreman, whom he married in 1974.  Danny and Theresa moved to Baton Rouge where they had their daughter Jan. They were members of Grace Baptist Church, where Danny was ordained as a deacon in 1997. He worked for Exxon Refinery for 33 years as a Supervisor, retiring in 2003. After returning to Summit, MS in 2005, he joined New Heights Baptist Church.

Danny, a.k.a Pop's, favorite pastime was anything that involved his family and twin granddaughters. He loved creating amazing furniture, school projects or holiday magic with his woodworking. Pop became an electronics enthusiast, tinkering with 3D printing, computers and LED light projects. Their dream home allowed him to fulfill his lifelong passion of being a kid on his Bobcat, and he was always game to find the best seafood platter at any restaurant.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clinton Johnston.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Theresa Foreman Johnston; one daughter, Jan Hale (Chris) of Greenwell Springs, LA; twin granddaughters, Ainsley and Charleigh Hale; one brother, Donald "Don" Johnston of Central, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hale, Steve Nelson, Jamie Foreman, Gil Foreman, Jay Harrison, and Hank Harrison.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 11:00AM till time of service at 1:00PM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS.  Dr. David Millican will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
