Claude Reeves, Sr. 81, of McComb, passed away, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at his residence.
He was born December 9, 1937 in Pike County. He was the son of Georgie and Johnnie O'Quin Reeves.
Mr. Reeves was retired from the signal maintenance department of Illinois Central Gulf Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a board member of the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 50 year member of the McComb City Lodge # 382 F&AM and a member of the Wahabi Shrine Temple in Jackson. Mr. Reeves' loved the outdoors and farming.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law, Cecil Wyatt and one niece, Vicki Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlotte Smith Reeves of McComb; two sons and daughters-in-law, Claude Reeves, Jr. and Marilyn of McComb and David Reeves and Ute of Picayune; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Russ Reeves of Gillsburg; two sisters, Wilma Wyatt of McComb and Johnnie M. Ballard and husband, Aubilyn of Monticello; brother-in-law, John Smith and wife, Linda of Brandon; sister-in-law, Sherry Fortenberry and husband, Bruce of Chesbrough, LA; five grandchildren, Jackie Lunsford and husband, Garrith of Chatawa, Adam McFall and wife, Stephine of Bogue Chitto, Nicole Reeves and husband, Austin of Liberty, Brantley Reeves and Tucker Reeves of Gillsburg; six great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5PM until 8PM at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS. 39666. Visitation continues Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church from 10AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Robert Netterville and Bro. LaVerne Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in Reeves cemetery.
