Mrs. Christa Serio, 87, of McComb, passed from this life on Monday, July 25, 2022, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on May 22, 1935 in Kassel, Germany to Karl Illert and Anna Liesel Illert.

She was a loving mother, wife, and friend, and a long time member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 65 years, Joe Serio.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Möller of Berlin, Germany; daughters, Cyndy Yeargan (Keane) and Gena Thompson (John); grandchildren, Heather Yeargan-Nikolic (Miki), Chelsea Michelle Serio, and Stephanie Bass (Dusty); great grandchildren, Leah Claire McGuire and Kaylin Barr; and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 beginning at 10AM until time of memorial service at 11AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb. Father Bill Henry will officiate with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
