Mrs. Cheryl Ann Murphy Powell, 64, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born on January 2, 1953, in Magnolia, MS, to Pat and Rose Martina Murphy. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia, MS; worked for many years as a babysitter; and enjoyed talking, kids, and life. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Preceding her in death were her parents, Pat and Rose Martina Murphy; and brother, Wayne Murphy. Survivors are her husband of 44 years, Charles W. Powell, Jr.; sons, Tony Powell and wife Robin of Osyka, MS, and Steve Powell and wife Debbie of Summit, MS; grandchildren, Brent Powell, Micah Powell, Lexie Stephens Blailock and husband Hunter, and Dallas Stephens; great-grandchildren, Oakley Blailock and Raylee Blailock; sister, Maureen Murphy Koster; and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 10:00 AM until the services at 11:00 AM with Bro. Todd Foster officiating. The graveside service will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers are Tony Powell, Steve Powell, Brent Powell, James Martin, Thomas Simpson and Chris Boyd. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Powell, Chris Powell, Jason Powell and Josh Powell.
