Mrs. Charlotte Reeves, 69, of Gillsburg, passed from this life on Monday, November 1, 2021, at UMMC with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 21, 1952 in McComb, MS, to John L. Smith and Wilma McMillan Smith.

Mrs. Reeves was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse of over 30 years. Caring for others was just her nature. If she had to be described in one word, it would be love. She was always caring for those around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Reeves, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Linda Smith; two brothers-in-law, Cecil Wyatt and Aubilyn Ballard.

She is survived by one daughter, Kim Reeves (Russ); two step-sons, Claude Reeves, JR. (Marilyn) and David Reeves; one brother, John Wesley Smith; one sister, Sherry Fortenberry (Bruce); two sisters-in-law, Wilma Wyatt and Johnnie Ballard;  five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one expected great grandchild; nieces, nephews, and a host  of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Brad Fitzgerald, Dwain Brister, Jeff Reeves, Nathan Ashley, Austin Etheridge , Adam McFall, Jamie Jackson, and Garrith Lunsford.

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons, Brantley and Tucker Reeves.

A visitation will be held at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 10:00 Am until time of service at 11:30 AM. A graveside service will follow in the Reeves Cemetery in Summit, MS. Bro. Brad Fitzgerald and Bro. Justin Craft will be officiating the service, with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests memorials be made in her name to: Friendship Baptist Church.
