Charlotte Ann McDonald Perry, beloved mother, 86, of Magnolia, MS died peacefully January 31, 2026 at Golden Age Health Care and Rehabilitation in Denham Springs, LA.
Charlotte was born September 1, 1939 in Collins, MS where she grew up, graduated from Collins High School and received an associate degree in bookkeeping and office administration from Jones Junior College. She worked for the South Pike School System for nearly 20 years.
She was a faithful member of the Magnolia Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School for children, participated in Women of the Church activities and served as treasurer and as an elder.
Charlotte enjoyed being with her family and friends. Later in life she joined the St. Andrews line dancing class. She loved participating in dancing events and met many new friends. Charlotte was known for her sweet smile and warm hugs. Her greatest joy was being with her family. Her husband of nearly 50 years, Robert Sidney Perry preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Roma McDonald, sisters and their spouses, Edwina and Robert Lyles, Maxine and Paul Upton, Emogene and James Horton and Faye and Frank Campbell.
She raised two children with endless love, patience and wisdom. She is survived by her two children and their spouses; Sydney Perry Prescott Freeman and Christopher Freeman of Walker, LA; Stacy Perry and Ann Roussel Perry of Meridian, MS.
A celebration of life will be held at Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS at 12:00 P M on Thursday, February 5, 2026. A visitation will be held from 10 A M until time of service. Bro. Todd Vickery will officiate. Burial will be in the McDonald Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Collins, MS.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Andrews Mission in McComb, MS, Hospice of Baton Rouge Pet Replacement Program or to any local animal shelter.
The family thanks the staff at Hospice of Baton Rouge and Golden Age Nursing Home. The family appreciated the kind and compassionate care given while she was in their care. Special thanks to nurses Nikki, Danielle, Britney and CNA's Linda and Jasmine for your love of your residents and becoming like family over the past few years.
