Charles Bert Wroten, beloved husband, father and grandfather of Smithdale, MS, died suddenly on February 4,2026.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Smithdale, MS. Bro. Jim Bradford will officiate. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wroten was born on August 15,1938 in Smithdale, MS to Ned and Eva Mae Westbrook Wroten.  He married his wonderful wife Carolyn in 1956 and were married for 69 years.  They moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana shortly after they married and worked and raised a family. They enjoyed 60 years in Baton Rouge where he developed many long-lasting friendships and served as deacon at Comite Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church.  He and Carolyn returned to Smithdale and attended Thompson Baptist Church and developed many new friendships.  Mr. Wroten loved the Lord and was happy to share his faith.  Whether he was working on a tractor or praising the Lord, he gave everything in life his all.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Wroten was proceeded in death by his parents, Ned and Eva Mae Westbrook Wroten, brothers Marion Earl Wroten, Melvin Eugene Wroten and Noel David Wroten.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Wroten of Smithdale, MS, a sister Bonnie Wroten Dyess (Jay) of Liberty, MS, a sister Jody Wroten Dake (Mike) of Zachary, LA, a daughter, Angela Wroten Christen (Guy) of Smithdale, a son, Charles Kelvin Wroten (Robin) of Conroe, Texas.  Grandchildren, Andrew Barber (Erica) of Prairieville, LA, Morgan Wroten Hovanec (Dustin) of Conroe, TX, Rachel Cothren (Preston) of The Woodlands, TX, Mason Wroten (Taylor) of Conroe, TX, Micah Wroten of Conroe, TX.  Great Grandchildren, Emma and Miles Barber of Prairieville, LA, Rhett, Jaxon and Weston Hovanec of Conroe, TX, Adeline and Benjamin Wroten of Conroe, TX and Hallie Cothren of The Woodlands, TX.
