Catherine Brewer Rushing, 89, of Spring Hill, TN and formerly of Summit, passed away, Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her residence. She was born November 30, 1928 in McComb. She was the daughter of Luther W. and Mable Sullivan Brewer. She was retired as a Geriatric Care Giver. She was a member of the former Locust Street Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Glenn Winson Rushing; two daughters, Shirley Rushing Jarrell and infant daughter, Kathleen Rushing; two brothers, Donald Brewer. Buddy Brewer and one sister, Vera Brewer Brister and one granddaughter, Dawn Michelle Jarrell.

She is survived by one daughter, Mable Jean Rushing of Spring Hill, TN; two sisters, Barbara Ann Jones and husband, Glenn of McComb and Eyvonne Horn of McKinney. Texas and formerly of Meridian, MS; seven grandchildren, Ronnie Bray, Michael Bray of Michigan, Melonie Sommers, Laura Sanders, Adam Rushing of Missouri, Melissa Rushing of Summit and Stacey Keeton of Bogue Chitto; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Celebration of Life Services were Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb with Bro. Kenneth Patten officiating. Burial was in Hollywood cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Bray, Billy Sanders, Bill Steen, Johnny Sullivan, Allen Rimes and Chad Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Jones, Harold Smith, Memphis Smith.
