Carlyn Ronald Doss, 78, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2017 at his sister's home in McComb, Mississippi. Ron was born in Clarksdale, MS on November 21, 1938 to Carlyn Reynolds and Hester Parks (Kirby) Doss. Ron graduated from Bobo High School in Clarksdale, MS in 1956, attended Delta State University and served in the US Armed Forces. He was an accomplished outdoor journalist. He loved nature and photography. He is survived by sons Chris Doss and his wife Lisa of Clarksdale, MS, Mark Doss and his wife Vickie of Rena Lara, MS, and Kirby Doss of Austin, TX; 5 grandchildren, Lacey (Doss) Knight and her husband Frank of Collinsville, MS, Chrisa (Doss) Mansell and her husband Kirk of Cleveland, MS, Devin Doss of Byhalia, MS, Brandi (Doss) Babb and her husband Mitchel of Batesville, MS, and Dylan Doss of Clarksdale, MS. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rhea Knight, and 2 sisters, Jane (Doss) Wilkinson and her husband Ken of McComb, MS and Kay (Doss) Narmour and her husband Darryl of Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Joseph Melvin Doss. There will be no memorial service, and at the request of the deceased, his ashes will be scattered in the wilderness.
