Obituary

Calvin Otha "C.O" Stegall went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Calvin was a longtime resident of Smithdale and sang for many years in the local and regional gospel communities as a member of The Providentials, The Continentals, The Southland Boys, and The Magnolia State Quartet among others.

C.O. primarily worked as a dairy farmer in Amite County and was a loving father, devoted husband and generous grandfather. He is preceded in death by Deanie Stegall, wife; Ronny Stegall, son; Ashley Stegall, grandson and Ezra G. Stegall, great grandson.

C.O. is survived by his children, Randy Stegall and Ricky Stegall and wife, Jerri Lynn Stegall, as well as eight grandchildren and their spouses, Eric Calvin Stegall, Nicole Stegall, Brittney Stegall Cutrer, Candace S. Smith, Jerod Stegall, Les Stegall, Stefan Stegall and Gaines Stegall, along with numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Thompson Baptist Church from 6 PM-8 PM and will continue Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 8:30 AM until time of services at 10 AM. A graveside service will immediately follow at Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Jim Bradford officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
