Billy E. Barnett, Sr., 72, of Summit, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at his residence.He was born June 18, 1946 in Summit, MS. He was the son of Johnny J. and Minnie Madge Kyzar Barnett.He was a retired Boilermaker with Local 110 and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Summit. Mr. Barnett was described by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Even though he loved fishing and gardening, his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy Edmond "Pete" Barnett, Jr.; one brother, Roger D. Barnett; one brother-in-law, James "Bootie" Freeman and four nephews, Gerry Freeman, Roger D. Barnett, Jr., Jason Barnett and Joey Barnett.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Barnett of Summit; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lacey Barnett of Summit; two sisters, Ellen O'Quin and husband, John of Natchez and Merle Freeman of Kenner; two brothers, Lamar Barnett and wife, Tammy and Kenneth Barnett of Summit; his sister-in-law, Brenda Barnett Summit; five grandchildren, Chandler, Dalton, Zachary and Paisley Barnett and Blair Buckley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road in Summit from 5PM until Celebration of Life Services at 7PM with Bro. Glynn Hilton officiating.

Pallbearers are Lamar Barnett, Kenneth Barnett, Anthony Greer, Chandler Barnett, Dalton Barnett, Zachary Barnett and Hayden Greer.
