Mrs. Betty Temple Smith, 74, of Magnolia, MS, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022 at McComb Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McComb, MS.

Mrs. Betty was born in Magnolia, MS on July 18, 1947 and was the daughter of H.F. Temple and Louise Boyd Temple. Mrs. Betty was an avid baker and was known for her cakes. She loved to make jewelry and was a wonderful seamstress.  She was an enthusiastic gardener and friends and family delighted in her yard's floral beauty.  She worked as an assistant teacher, as a bank teller, and as a mail carrier.  But her most rewarding career was caring for patients as a Registered Nurse.  She was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Joel Glenn Smith; one brother, Larry Temple; and one grandson, Thomas Samuel Asa Henderson.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Joel Smith; one daughter, Allison Henderson and Zach of Chatawa, MS; one brother, Harvey Temple and Markel of Magnolia, MS; two sisters, Mickey Moak and David of Bogue Chitto, MS and Debbie T. Whittington of Magnolia, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 9AM until time of service at 11AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS with Bro. E.J. Didon officiating. A burial will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS.

Pallbearers will be Chris Whatley, Danny Rushing, Jason Temple, Sean Rushing, Brian Moak, Jake Whatley, and Ethan Moak.
