Betty June
Holland Wilson Smylie
December 5, 1930 – May 14, 2019
Betty June Holland Wilson Smylie, 88, Weatherford, TX and formerly of Magnolia, Mississippi, joined her husband and went home to be with herHeavenly Father on Tuesday afternoon, May 14, in Weatherford
Betty was born the first of two identical twins on December 5, 1930 to Mary and Lee Holland. She graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana and went on to a business school to become a bookkeeper. Betty married Lloyd Wilson in April 1953 and together had two children. A devout Christian, she was active in Unity Baptist Church, holding various positions for many years. Betty will be remembered as being a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her greatest legacy is the passing on of her love of Jesus, and her love of books, "good" music, and singing. Her greatest wish is that everyone she knew would come to know the love of Jesus as their personal Savior and Friend.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Lloyd Wilson; her husband, Lloyd J. Wilson; husband, Dewitt Smylie; her brother, L.J. Holland; and by her much-loved mother-in-law; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and by many of her friends.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Wanda Henley of Weatherford; her twin sister, Bobby Royer; sister, Gloria Marceaux; brother-in-law, C.M. Wilson; sisters-in-laws, Gail Wilson and Wilma Ammons; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and by her "grand-dogs" Belle and Aries.
Visitation is Monday, May 20, 2019 at Unity Baptist Church, 1076 Hamp Lea Road, Magnolia, MS 39652 from 2:30PM until services at 4:30PM with Bro. E.J. Didon officiating. Burial will follow in Terry's Creek cemetery under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.
