Mrs. Addie Bernice Wells Howell, 94, went to meet her Lord and Savior Monday, November 22, 2021, at Camelia Estates with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 11, 1927, in Amite County, MS, to Dan L. Wells and Addie Lee Reeves Wells.
She was a faithful member of East McComb Baptist Church/New Heights Baptist Church. She was well known in the community from Howell Import Motors/Datsun Dealership on Broadway, which she and her husband owned and operated for many years. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, John David Howell, Sr.; one daughter, Connie Howell Ginn; one son, John David Howell, Jr.; two sisters, Laverne Nunnery and Norma Smith; two brothers, James Hugh Wells and Dan L. "Jack" Wells, Jr.; and one toddler brother, Raiford Lee Wells.
She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Wells East and Joy Wells Laird ; one daughter, Carolyn Howell Carter and her husband, Bill of Lake Fork, TX; one son, Jimmy Wayne Howell and his wife, Lisa of Hattiesburg, MS; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Wayne Howell, Bill Carter, Chris Carter, and Patrick Rawls.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sharkey Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with Bro. Rick Kennedy officiating with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials be made in her name to: New Heights Baptist Church designated to Senior Adult Ministry Fund, 5140 US-98 Summit, MS 39666.
