Benjamin Doyle Evans left to be with his Lord Jesus Christ and reunited with his beloved Pat on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the age of 84. Bennie was born April 3, 1941 in Monroe, LA. He lived in Jackson, MS most of his early life with brief stints in Mobile, AL and the Stronghope, MS area.

Bennie graduated from Central High School in Jackson in 1959. Immediately following, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Those four years had significant impact on the rest of  his life. While home on leave to visit his grandfather at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, he met a student nurse named Patricia, and he was smitten for life. After a single date and a year of long-distance correspondence, Marine Lance Corporal Benjamin Evans returned home to claim his bride. Their first year of married life was spent at Camp Lejeune, NC until Bennie completed his enlistment. They returned to Summit where they lived the remainder of their 57 years of marriage, raising two daughters along the way until Pat left this earth in 2019. Now, Bennie's greatest desire has been achieved and he and Pat are reunited for eternity.

Bennie was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his daughter Lynn Williamson, his parents and step parents, Ruby and Marion Overby and Benjamin Frank and Dorothy Evans, brother Archie Evans, sisters Patricia Perez and Jean Baronne and infant sister Shirley Evans. He leaves behind daughter Beth Robinson (John) of Richmond, TX; grandchildren Lauren Badillo (Stephen) of San Marcos, TX, Brandon Robinson (Claire) of Fort Worth, TX, Cameron Jones (Charlene) of Franklinton LA and Erynn Williamson of Covington, LA; great granddaughters Leya Badillo and Riley Robinson (January 2026); sisters Frances Fair and Joan Vinet of south Louisiana; along with a host of beloved family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Summit Senior Adults Ministry or the Hattiesburg Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.
