Mrs. Barbara Jean "Deany" Duke Stegall, 84, of Liberty, MS went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS.
Mrs. Deany was born in Tullos, LA on September 22, 1936 and was the daughter of Lloyd Duke and Daphne Couples Duke. She was a longtime member of Thompson Baptist Church in Smithdale where she was involved in so many things. She was a selfless person who loved volunteering and helping with a lot of events and organizations. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and loved to travel with her husband and best friend of 68 years, as her husband would sing with a gospel group all over the United States. She loved her yardwork and enjoyed gardening. She also loved her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lloyd Ray Duke, Jr.; two sisters, Elizabeth Parham and Catherine Eades; one son, Ronnie Ray Stegall; one daughter-in-law, Tammie Stegall, and one great-grandchild, Ezra Stegall.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 wonderful years, C. O. Stegall of Liberty, MS; two sons, Ricky Stegall and Jerri of Summit, MS, and Randy Stegall of Brookhaven, MS; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Eric Stegall, Ashley Stegall, Jerod Stegall, Gage Stegall, Keshtin Smith, and Stefan Stegall.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 12PM until time of service at 2PM at Thompson Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS with Bro. Jim Bradford officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A burial will follow in Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
