Mrs. Barbara Ann Morgan, 68, of Ruth, MS passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Morgan was born August 27, 1955 in Morgan City, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Margaret Herford and Hampton Dozar, both of which preceded her in death.

She attended First Baptist Church in Summit, MS. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her husband of 49 years; they enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping pawn shops, and day trips finding a great bargain. She was a woman with a big heart and was always willing to help others in need.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Morgan Sr. of Ruth; one son, Gene Morgan Jr. (Tammy); one daughter, Anna Morgan; two sisters, Rose Mary Walters and Cynthia Cotton; four brothers; Floyd Herford, Lloyd Herford Jr., Paul Dozar and James Dozar; four grandchildren, Austin and Kylan Sterling, and Rebecca and Reed Morgan; a long time friend, Sheree Strickland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Sharkey Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, September 13, from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, and the family will also receive visitors the next morning at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 14, at 11:00 AM; graveside services will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bogue Chitto, MS.
