Julia Lee Sandifer, 92, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-mother and friend went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her residence in Magnolia. She was born February 8, 1923 in Pike County and was the daughter of Max and Ella Mae Reeves. She was a retired seamstress from Kellwood and a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carter's Creek She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Aubrey Lee Sandifer; two sisters, Alice McKenzie and Lois Rushing; one brother, David Reeves; a granddaughter, Teresa Sandifer and a grandson, Aubrey "Bree" Sandifer. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Alvin Sandifer; a daughter Dorothy Evans and son-in-law, Bernie Evans; daughter-in-law, Betty Sandifer; grandchildren, Robert Hopkins and wife Pam, Tracy Sandifer, Dale Sandifer and wife, Robbie; great-grandchildren, Alana Hopkins, Luke Hopkins, Jesse Yates, Cheyanne Sandifer, Jessica Sandifer; sisters, Maxine McKenzie, Myrtle Jackson, Betty Ryan and Jessie Mae Cothern and husband, Junior; brother, Sonny Reeves and wife, Billie Reeves; sister-in-law, Ann Reeves and a numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Hospice Compassus and all the nurses who cared for her, and her special caregivers, Kathy Gatlin, Kay Marshall, Janice Dillon and Bobby Fultz. Visitation is Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit from 6PM until 8PM and continues Sunday at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carter's Creek from1PM until services at 2PM with Rev. Jimmy Houston and Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in Reeves cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Hopkins, Luke Hopkins, Lary Rushing, Dale Sandifer, Bobby McKenzie and Billy McKenzie.
